Capping off an amazing season with a 13 point Grand Final Victory the Men's Black Diamond Cup made 2022 a season to remember and celebrate.

Trailing by 9 points at half time the Bombers dug deep for a true
Premiership Quarter kicking 6 goals to wrestle back the lead before
hanging on for a hard fought win.​

Trent Stubbs was the hometown hero kicking 5 goals whilst Lachlan Waters was named Best on Ground winning the "McBain Medal"

2022 AFL HCC Awards

With both the Men's and Women's Black Diamond Cup Teams making the 2022 Grand finals, KIllarney Vale AFC can also boast some other massive achievements.

Corey Shackelton was announced as Black Diamond Cup Men's Coach of the Year.   In addition Damien Hector,  Brandon Lloyd,  Rick White, Josh Misfud, Jye Boby, Nathan Smith and Tim Oosterhoff were named in the Men's Black Diamond Cup Team of 2022. 

TIm Oosterhoff was awarded the Elliot-Davey Medal as the Leagues Best & Fairest with Josh Misfud named runner up. Kicking 96 pre finals goals, Tim Oosterhoff "Rooster" was the recipient of the  Maurice Goolagong Trophy as the Leagues Leading Goal Kicker.

 

As a further sign of the strength and depth of the Club, Ben Simpson was named in the Men's Black Diamond Plate Team of the Year and both Emily Crookes & Bethany Wood named in the Women's Black Diamond Cup Team of 2022.

2022 Women's Black Diamond Cup Runners Up

In a game where many had written off the Bombers, these players reached a  new level of determination & self belief that saw them come within 3 points of an unprecedented upset against a team nobody could get close to all season.

Newcastle City Cup Women 3.6 - 24 to Killarney Vale Cup Women 3.3 - 21 beaten on the day but honorable in defeat.
